Are you looking for a vacation destination to visit after this pandemic is over? Well, how about Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. The Bahamas is a fantastic Caribbean destination. It is relatively affordable, and it is also close to the US.

Nassau is located on the new providence island in the Bahamas, and it is the center of tourism in the Bahamas. The beaches in Nassau are some of the best in the entire world. The waters are calm and crystal clear, and the beaches are long and clean.

Several fantastic resorts overlook the beaches of Nassau. However, today I am going to tell you about some of the best beaches in Nassau that you need to visit. Nassau has a beach for everyone’s preferences, whether you like crowded places with a lot of fun activities, or you want a beach that is more romantic and secluded, Nassau will not disappoint.

So, check out the following six beaches in Nassau.

Cable Beach

Cable Beach is one of the most lively and crowded beaches in Nassau. It is prevalent, and there are loads of amazing activities and watersports that you can participate in on the beach. Furthermore, this beach is overlooked by five resorts, which have multiple restaurants and swimming pools to enjoy.

Though the beach is public access and free to enter, you will need to buy a day pass to access the resorts and use their amenities. If you don’t want to eat at the resort restaurants, there are several vendors and beachfront bars on cable beach.

Though Cable beach is a fantastic spot, it can be a little overcrowded, especially around spring break; therefore, if you want someplace more secluded, checkout Exuma island Bahamas, a private island.

Love Beach:

As the name suggests, this is the ideal beach for lovers and romantic couples. Love beach is one of the most secluded beaches in Nassau, and therefore it is usually almost abandoned, especially on the weekends.

You have to do a nine-mile hike to get to the beach and keep in mind that this is a locals-only beach. However, the people are usually very welcoming of foreigners, just make sure that you respect their privacy while you are at the beach. That means no playing loud music or having parties on this beach.

You may be worried about the long hike, but trust me, this beach is worth it. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Nassau.

Blue Lagoon Beach

The Blue lagoon island is about 5 km away from downtown Nassau, and it is one of the best resorts and water parks in the country. The Blue lagoon island is not as crowded as cable beach, yet there are loads of fun activities.

The Blue Lagoon water park is also a popular attraction on the island, especially if you travel with your kids. However, unlike the other beaches on this list, the Blue Lagoon island is not open for public access. You will have to buy a pass to enjoy this fantastic spot in Nassau.

Saunders Beach:

If you are traveling with your family and kids, Saunders Beach is a spot you need to know. This beach is not very crowded, and families mostly occupy it with their kids. There is a designated safe swimming area for kids, with a lifeguard on duty, and there is also a separate play area for the kids.

Saunders Beach is one of the very few beaches in the Bahamas with public bathrooms and changing areas. Furthermore, it also has a parking area, which makes the beach very convenient for families.

However, there aren’t many water sports offered on this beach that you can enjoy; moreover, there aren’t many options for food and drinks. You may find one or two street food vendors on the beach, but mostly it is better if you take your snacks for the kids.

This is a great beach to sit back, relax, and get a nice tan while the kids play. Therefore, if you are visiting with young kids, make sure to visit Saunders beach.

Junkanoo Beach

Junkanoo Beach is the closest beach to downtown Nassau, and it is a trendy spot among college students on spring break. Unless you are visiting during spring break, you will find it to be relatively less crowded than Cable beach or cabbage beach.

Furthermore, Junkanoo beach has public restrooms and changing areas, which is an amenity found in very few beaches in the Bahamas.

This is not the most scenic beach in the Bahamas, and neither are there any water sports to enjoy, however since it is very close to the city, it is a trendy sport among backpackers and college students who don’t stay at the beachfront resorts and want affordable accommodation in downtown Nassau. As far as food and snacks are concerned, junkanoo beach is decent, there are some beachfront bars, and vendors who sell food and cocktails on junkanoo beach.

Cabbage Beach

Lastly, let’s talk about Cabbage beach, which does have a weird name, but is one of the best and longest beaches in Nassau. The beach has a two-mile-long stretch of white sand, one side, where all the resorts are made is usually very crowded, and there are loads of fantastic water sports to take part in.

Furthermore, the Atlantic and the breezes resorts are located on cabbage beach; therefore, by buying a day pass, you will be able to access the fantastic pools and restaurants of the resorts and use their restrooms and changing areas as well.

Suppose you want a less crowded place to relax, heat towards the east side of the beach, where you can find much more secluded areas. Furthermore, since the beach is so long, it doesn’t feel as crowded as Cable beach.

Final thoughts:

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas, and it is mostly where most people travel to. There are loads of amazing beaches in Nassau, but here are six of the best that you need to check out.
