Being a mom is the definition of a full-time job. There are about 43.5 million moms in the US, more than people in any other “full-time job.” It is a safe bet to assume that at least some of these moms need a little bit of coffee to help them get through these tough work weeks.
However, the process of grinding the beans, pouring the grounds and water into the machine, and making that precious cup of joe can be costly and time-consuming. To help cut down on both costs and time, it would help to answer the question: what type of coffee maker is best suited for a busy mom?
[ something we did not include in this article, but perhaps you’d like to check out afterwards or before you get stuck into this list is the smart coffee maker. ]Drip Coffee Makers Breakdown
The drip coffee machine has been a staple in the American kitchen for decades, and it is still the most popular type of coffee machine. It is simple to use, low-maintenance, and an affordable way to make that morning brew or mid-day pick-me-up.
Affordability
Generally, the cost of a drip coffee maker is relatively low, making it an ideal machine for any household. The price of the coffee that is brewed with it may vary, but in reality, it is up to the user. The only other cost would be for filters, which again are generally inexpensive. The only annoying thing is that you have to worry about two different supplies: coffee and filters. If you are an extremely busy parent, forgetting about one may cost you your brew.
Ease of Use
Drip coffee makers can take a while to brew, depending on how much coffee is being made. This can be an issue if you are in a rush, but if it is a day at home, then there’s no need to worry. Often, setting an auto brew feature allows the coffee to be brewed automatically in the mornings, but you still have to go through the process of setting up the machine.
Instant Coffee Maker Breakdown
One of the biggest modern innovations in coffee making has been the creation of the Keurig coffee machine. Singlehandedly, this technology has rewired how we think about our morning coffee.
Affordability
Compared to a drip machine, your run-of-the-mill instant coffee machine is quite a bit more expensive. The machine itself can be almost double the price for just a base model, while the coffee pods required for use are more expensive than the filters and grounds of a drip coffee machine.
Ease of Use
What an instant coffee machine lacks in affordability, it makes up for in ease of use. The process of putting in a coffee pod, placing a cup underneath, and occasionally adding water is way less complicated than the number of steps involved in using a drip coffee maker. Furthermore, this process is extremely quick. Place a pod, hit a button, and come back in two minutes, and your coffee will be done. If you’re in a hurry, having this type of machine is a great benefit.
