During our recent SA Road Trip we spent time in the Eastern Cape near Qunu, the town where Nelson Mandela grew up and is now buried. We captured images of this magical place and thought about what life was like when he was growing up.
Famous for it’s slow “progress” the Wild Coast is a little piece of heaven and one of the few places on Earth untouched and unspoiled by the consumeristic culture we live in.
The boy herding sheep and the young men skimming stones across the river are the images I like to imagine of Madiba as a young boy.

I am a city boy through and through, but looking at those images I yearn for a peaceful existence like that. Great post.

Thanks Hennie! After spending just three nights we were ready to live here for another six months, at least. Such is the peace and serenity of the surroundings.

So peaceful. I love South Africa.
Vaughan says
Especially this part of it. Unspoilt. Paradise.
