South Africa’s rugged West Coast is one of my favourite parts of the country. We road tripped up to the fishing town of Paternoster where the waves crushed, the wind howled and we got up to some strange things in the name of entertainment. With only a few guesthouses ( no big hotels), an endless stretch of beach dotted with fishing boats and its famous bokkoms ( dried fish), it’s rough, quiet beauty always ensures you leave feeling renewed and relaxed. There was even a little fireside surprise…
To get to Paternoster from Cape Town, take the R27 ( West Coast Road) past Langebaan and Vredenburg.

Thanks Christine! We love this West Coast seaside town.
Thank you Christine! Heading up later this month and hope to improve upon this one 🙂
