As soon as I flew into Zanzibar I fell in love with the magnificent architecture. Our resorts, Stone Town and even the market place was brimming with delicious doors, aging picturesque shutters and archways framing perfect pictures.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Stone Town is particularly alluring with architectural elements from its Arab, African, Indian and European influences.

Where did you stay when you went to Zanzibar and which part of the island did you enjoy the most?
Looks awesome…I’ve never been to Zanzibar, but my wife and I are planning a few days there (without the kids!) next year for a special Wedding Anniversary. I assume you’d recommend it?
Absolutely recommended! 🙂 A little holiday there without the kids is definitely something we’d also be very keen on doing in a few years 🙂
Your photos capture the tiered architecture found across Zanzibar….Arab, Indian, Swahili and European. Even more stunning is the fact that they were all taken with the iPhone! We recommend a travel diary app called Esplorio. It’s a great way to document a journey and could complement these excellent photos by providing a map of where they were taken 🙂
