Summer is here (hopefully) and if you haven’t already, now’s the time to get moving and get healthy. As I discovered over the last few months in Thailand and now in Cape Town, yoga is the perfect way to de-stress, build strength and enhance your mood.
Because I would love to share the wonderful secret of yoga with you, together with Yoga Spirit in Constantia, we will be giving away 2 weeks of unlimited yoga to three lucky winners.
Yoga Spirit is a hot yoga studio offering yoga for all people. Their yoga is designed for all bodies and levels. They offer the following styles of yoga: Bikram, Vinyasa and Restorative.
Vinyasa is where you will work up a good sweat with ample cardio and strength-building asanas (yoga postures). Bikram in a nutshell is 26 postures, 90 minutes, 36 degrees. It is said to be great for beginners and a beneficial accompaniment to Vinyasa. Restorative yoga is more about releasing stress than getting an exercise workout. It will leave you feeling relaxed and peaceful.
Even if you’ve never done yoga before, they offer beginner classes and encourage you to take it slow and move at your own pace.

As a dance teacher & choreographer, I incorporate lots of yoga elements in my warm-ups, yet I find that I neglect my own body, whilst focusing on my students. I turn 45 on 6 December, & I’m at that stage of my life, that as much as I think I have kept my body in shape, I feel like I need to learn from someone else as to how to keep my body agile.
I have heard that yoga is not just great for the body, but also for the mind, & I am ready to experience this very popular form of exercise. 🙂
I think that committing to yoga, I can only benefit in the long run; mind, body & soul.
Oooh how many reasons can one person give?! Toning up the bod for 1, calming the mind, stretching those muscles that tighten up behind a desk, centering yourself, finding balance and and and …
I have recently moved house and jobs…possibly the two most stressful things to do in ones life. It all happened in one week 😛 I think i would love to do some yoga to unwind and relax the intense stress that takes its toll on our bodies and well as clear my mind for the holiday season. This prize sounds like perfection 😛 Fit as a fiddle for the holiday season 😛
I’d loooove to win the two weeks as I have been to Yogaspirit and the teachers there are simply awesome!! I have been practicing yoga for years and my life has completely changed for the better now that I have yoga in it 🙂
I started doing hot yoga (Bikram and Vinyasa) around 2 years ago. Straight away I absolutely fell in love with it! Being an ex dancer I love to move and stretch my body, and push myself to new limits. After quitting dancing many years ago, I could feel my body missing that form of movement. For me, yoga fills that void. It allows me to gain that same satisfaction, through bends and arches and twists. It’s such a beautiful way to get in touch with your body! To me, the benefits are endless – for my body, my mind and my soul.
Unfortunately yoga had to fall down my list of expenses, as I started a new job in a junior position – so I haven’t been able to afford it for some time now. I still continue my practice in my bedroom, but it’s just not the same.
Yoga Spirit was recommended to me by a yogi friend a couple months back, so this seems as perfect an opportunity as ever to try join the community. Cannot wait to get back into a (hot) studio and sweat it out with some lovely new fellow yogis 🙂
My baby has just turned one…time to get my body back
So many benefits but the main one is that it leaves you feeling so great, fresh and detoxified.
I would love this after a busy year, just to get back on the mat!
I’m 24. I’ve been away from my family and home, traveling and working in Asia, for more than 9 months now. I love new challenges and traveling solo was/is exactly that for me. In a few months’ time I’ll return to my home country’s beautiful Mother City, Cape Town. As the new responsibilities kick in, it would be awesome to have a fresh challenge to keep me positive, strong and balanced – 2 weeks of unlimited yoga at Yoga Spirit CT with my twin sister would really be a great!
I would love love love to be able to do yoga at such an awesome studio. I have been through a very traumatic emotional experience not to long ago and it has taken a lot out of me emotionally and physically. Would so LOVE to build up my strength again, inside and out, and find ME 🙂
About a month or so ago, I started yoga at Yoga Spirit by spending the last of my months moola on a 2-week start-up package, alas, as those two beautiful weeks ended, I was left with no more cash to continue. I am going to Thailand in a month and I desperately want to improve my yoga before then so that I can attend some classes, hopefully. It just isn’t financially possible at the moment, being a student and trying so save, but this prize would mean so much! Those two weeks of classes alone helped both my mind and physicality immeasurably, and I’ve been trying to find a way to return to Yoga Spirit since! This would mean so much!!
I would love to re-find my focus, balance and peace-of-mind that I have allowed to get lost in chaos this year. What better way than to get back into a routine, where I will be able to rebuild both my outer and inner strength <3
I would absolutely love to win this. I have recently gone through some personal hardships and I believe there is no better way to get through something than to jump back into the race! And a little exercise can only do me good! Some time to destress, relax, and unwind… and focus on the positive aspects of my life 🙂
