Photoblog: Wildlife and their Young.

Whilst road tripping around South Africa we stayed at Jock Safari Lodge in the Kruger National Park and Sibuya Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. Immersing yourself in the wild is always a thrilling and magical experience as every day and each hour, the wild has a different story to tell. We were lucky to spot a couple of different animals with their young and who can resist the cute, young ones of any species?

This baby white was so curious as we approached in the game vehicle.

Baby elephants are by far my absolute favourite.

Elephants are very protective of their young and stick close to them when closing the road near vehicles.

Cheek to cheek.

Warthog about to cross the road.

This was before two lionesses stalked and chased them into the bushveld.

This little fellow was so adorable and utterly curious of the vehicle.

One day, I’ll be tall too.

A little zebra.

with his mini mohawk.

Didn’t take him long to earn his stripes.

Blou Wildebeest.

Rhinos on the hill.

They were not too keen to stick around as we drove closer to them.

These two were part of a big herd of elephants eating and drinking in the semi-dry riverbed.

Munching the long grass.

Yet another baby elephant I wanted to take home.

Two young bontebok playing around before one gets knocked over.

Time for a drink.

Young bontebok are completely different in colour to their parents.

This cutie was guarded by the other females in her herd.

Really giving those new trunk muscles a stretch and reaching for a top branch.

This young rhino walked away from his parents at one stage to check us out.

The only thing cuter than seeing a little rhino…

is seeing it from behind. That bum with the tiny tail and those chubby legs.
