Malacca: Art and the Streets.

I won’t lie when I tell you that Malaysia’s hippest city is also it’s most historical. It’s listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason- the fusion of unimaginable architecture is thanks to centuries of colonisation by the British, Dutch, Portuguese as well as the development of the Peranakan culture. Being a port city always proved to be a blessing and a curse to its first inhabitants who benefited from the trade but were usually the first towns to be captured.

It is my favourite city in Malaysia for these reasons- Along with Penang it has vibrant, colourful street art telling stories of its past battles and warriors as well as its present rich cultural diversity; You can find delicious food ( especially that of the Baba Nyonya) and coffee fit for connoisseurs within its tiny streets; beside the river at night is one of the most romantic places in Asia and of course the refurbished and surviving architecture which tells so many past tales.

Now I will let the photos show you…
