Sometimes one of the best ways to beat the heat on holiday is with a big splash. Water parks have been hugely popular with all ages for many years, thanks to their adrenaline-inducing water rides. So, for a great way to spend your family holiday we have rounded up five of the coolest water parks around the world for a whole day of fun.

Siam Park, Adeje, Spain

Located on Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Siam Park was ranked the world’s top water park by Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards in 2014. Spread across 46 acres, Siam Park is built on a Thailand theme that runs throughout the whole park. Undoubtedly it has something for everyone, whether it’s activities for the kids, or the Tower of Power for those with no fear.

The pool water is heated to a comfortable 24C so, even on those cloudy days, you will have no problems enjoying your time here. Before hitting the rides, get an idea of what it’s all about on the Mai Thai River also known as the Lazy River, where you float around the park and get a feel for the adventure you’re about to embark on.

We advise you get here first thing in the morning so you can fully enjoy your time at the park before it gets too crowded.

Atlantis Aquaventure, Dubai

With many attractions such as the The Palm and Atlantis, the Aquaventure Park is one of Dubai’s best days out. Immerse yourself in aquarium tours, great food and water rides that’ll get your adrenaline pumping.

Enjoy the many attractions on offer, ride through shark tunnels, test your fears on high slides, watch the little ones splash around in the Splasher’s Island or wind down on the lazy river. Splish Splash, Long Island, New York

 For mild riders to those who live for the thrill, there is something for everyone at Splish Splash. Children can have the time of their life here swinging around on an octopus’s giant tentacles or slide the Elephants slide. Parent can join in too at the interactive pirate ship featuring slides and water cannons – this is the perfect family holiday activity.
