Adventure is just one of those things that Lauren and I are drawn to and we’ve been lucky, both of our families were pretty fantastic at getting us out over long-weekends or during school holidays to explore, go camping, and rough it up a little. I suspect those years played a huge part in where we are now (living in a foreign country) and what we do (Digital nomads and travel bloggers.)
And it’s the exact same lifestyle I’d love to bless my firstborn with (arriving late October / early November!) [side-note: feel free to send diapers]
In fact, Lauren and I are so willing to pack up and leave that we often forget it’s not so easy for other people. “What? You haven’t been yet?! You’ve really got to go!” has become a mantra on the road. We always meet locals who, for various reasons, haven’t explored their own country as thoroughly a we have.

So i’ve got a question for you. And this is specifically focused on those living in the USA.
Have you ever left your home to explore the rest of the country, or even the world?
Well, according to US Cellular, millions haven’t had the opportunity to do this! They’re saying that as many as 20% of Americans haven’t left their home state to check out the rest of the country!
We know that that may sound extreme but over the years we’ve come to recognise and respect the barriers of travel. Be it a lack of disposable income, a hard job, stress, physical limitations and so many more things that people take for granted.
Anyway, the exciting news here is that US Cellular, has taken the bull by the horns and created an awesome 5 Part TV Series dedicated to helping Americans explore their big country!
Big Country is hosted by the legendary Andrew Zimmern, whom you’ll recognise from shows like The Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods and more.
Here’s one of the episodes for you to view right here (click play):
My favourite thing about this program is how they try to convey that magical feeling when you visit somewhere else for the first time. It’s a feeling unlike anything in the world. That US Cellular and The Travel Channel (a personal favourite of ours) have come together to create a programme which provides opportunities to share the “feeling of travel” makes me incredibly happy and super stoked for the people on the show.
But wait…
…Even though 4 of the 5 episodes have been filmed, U.S. Cellular is looking to cast one more special customer to take on a trip of a lifetime for the season finale of Big Country!
Please visit http://www.travelchannel.com/big-country to apply for the opportunity to find yourself in the middle of anywhere with national coverage from U.S. Cellular and TV host Andrew Zimmern on the show!

US Cellular customers probably already knew that their operator provides a fantastic service right across the nation, but now they also know about the companies’ love of travel (and compassion too!) It’s awesome to see a brand, which specialises in “smaller cities” and rural communities, give back to the people that built them up in the first place.
