Basketball Travel: Global Destinations For Fans

When you love basketball, you may want to incorporate it into your next vacation. While there may be numerous opportunities to play the sport no matter where you go, there could be more on offer in certain locations. Not only can you enjoy the sport within these places, but you could also learn more about different cultures and how they find their enjoyment alongside you.

New York

One of the biggest places you may be able to visit and enjoy basketball may be New York City. It is possible to buy Knicks tickets ahead of time, allowing you to pick and choose from a variety of dates. If there is a second team you would love to see play, you may want to hold off traveling so that you can attend that specific game. Another benefit of choosing this city for your destination is that, around your basketball game, you could partake in other excursions, both sports related and otherwise. This can really enable you to make the most out of your vacation and pursue some of your other hobbies and interests as well.

Spain

Taking a trip to Spain can be absolutely beautiful, especially during the summer months. While you may find rich culture and food here, you may also be pleasantly surprised to learn that the Spanish have a vested interest in basketball. If you plan on traveling to Spain in 2024, it could be worth booking yourself onto a tour of the New Valencia Arena, or even trying to watch a game there. For those living outside of Europe, this can also be a great opportunity to explore a new place. Alongside basketball games, concerts may also be held at this venue, so you may be able to source different forms of entertainment from this single location. At present, the venue is still in development, so you may even have the chance to be one of the first to take in a game here.

China

Basketball isn’t limited to the western world. Those in China may also enjoy playing and watching the sport. While this may have originally come from enjoying traditional NBA games, now many Chinese residents like to play themselves. In fact, it is estimated that around 300 million Chinese citizens play the sport. This could enable you to easily find a game to join in with in a country that loves it as much as you do. Part of this love may come from Yao Ming, the first Chinese-born star to be on an NBA team. Although you may not be able to understand the commentary at a game set in China, you may still be able to follow along and take part alongside the rest of the crowd.

Traveling the world doesn’t mean you need to leave your existing passions behind. When you want to book a vacation, it could be a good idea to think about how you can include your favorite sport in the process. Many different regions of the world may have new basketball experiences on offer.
