This past week, I was invited to join Talk Radio 702 in collaboration with South African Tourism ( Shotleft) to do a road trip of Northern KZN. Better still, I was able to bring the entire family and experience the family activities that can be enjoyed by everyone visiting this region.
We were joined by the epic videographer Lloyd Koppel and the 702 Team of Gary and Sithadwe. What an incredible team to travel with for five days.
Being my first time there, I was completely blown away by this region. It has everything from lush vegetation, blue lakes, deserted beaches to rivers inhabited by hippos, small towns and game reserves with the Big Five. There is truly something for families with various budgets. Here’s a few of our highlights from the trip.

I’ve never been to this part of South Africa (one of the furthest away from Cape Town!) but it looks like it’s very underrated and undiscovered for sights and tourism potential?
Lauren Manuel McShane says
It truly is spectacular! There is a fair amount of tourism already and hopefully it won’t increase too much as it’s beauty lies in the fair amount of seclusion still left in some parts. Thanks for reading 🙂
