4 Excellent Places to Visit in the United States

We are not far away from summer, and this year, more individuals and families plan to travel. Some would-be travelers who waited out 2020 and 2021 because of Covid-19 want to hit the road this year for a much-deserved vacation. You might feel the same way, but you’re unsure where to go.

Let’s talk about some of the best spots in the US where you might want to take the family this year. If you have not spent time in any of these places yet, they should be on your radar as you start narrowing down some possible getaway destinations.

Los Angeles

You might come up with different ways to keep cool this summer, but it’s hard to beat taking a dip in the ocean. You can do that in Los Angeles, where the Pacific’s blue water beckons. You can head out to Santa Monica and swim out past the breakers, or you can just dip a toe in if you’re not the best swimmer.

LA has something for everyone. If you’re a foodie, you will probably love the many Mexican restaurants that you’ll find all over the city. Maybe you’d prefer some artisanal cocktails at one of the high-end bars on the Sunset strip. LA is no slouch in the nightlife department, and you can go bar hopping and search for live music.

New York

If you’ve never been to New York, you might head there this summer and experience the big city for a few days. You will find about eight and a half million people in the Big Apple, and even if you stand still on the sidewalk, you can almost feel the city humming with life.

You might go to a museum like the Met, or a great eatery like Per Se, perhaps the best French restaurant in North America. You can head to the Village and enjoy some live show tunes at Marie’s Crisis, where the theater crowd hangs out after performing on Broadway.

You might head to the Bronx and catch a Yankee game at the Stadium, or maybe you’d prefer hopping a 7 train to Queens to see the Metropolitans at Citi Field. You can also go sightseeing and ride up to the top of the Empire State Building. You can walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn into Manhattan while enjoying a beautiful view of Lady Liberty.

The Grand Canyon

Maybe you would prefer to get away from the people and commune with nature for a while. You can do that all over the US, but if you’ve never been to The Grand Canyon, you should go there at least once in your life.

You can head to Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park by car, or you can also take a chartered bus if you’d prefer not to drive. The Canyon offers some of the most incredible natural views you’ll ever hope to see.

The Canyon winds for 277 miles, and the Colorado Rives weaves through it like a blue snake. You can go whitewater rafting if you’d like, though that’s not for the fainthearted.

Maybe hiking sounds better to you. If so, you can check out the North Kaibab trail, though many people like the Bright Angel just as much. They’re both very scenic, and you can’t help but feel small as you hike down into the Canyon and see it towering up above your head.

Yosemite National Park

California’s Yosemite National Park has to be on your to-do list if you want to travel and see the best sights the US has to offer. You can see the most famous landmarks, like Glacier Point or Half Dome. You might also want to explore some of the more popular trails, like the Mist Trail or Cathedral Point.

You will find many waterfalls in Yosemite, including the majestic Yosemite Falls. It is one of the world’s tallest waterfalls. You can camp in the park, but if you’re worried about mosquitos or the occasional black bear, you can always do day trips in the park and then bed down in a Lake Tahoe hotel.

You might also think about checking out Yellowstone National Park, or maybe you’d prefer New Orleans or San Francisco. You will find many wonderful places in the US to visit, and seeing them should allow you to reconnect with the country if you’re ever feeling a little disillusioned. You should find plenty to inspire you if you just search for it.
