The promise of more comfortable travel always brings forth a longing look in my eyes. Whether you’re travelling for 2 or twenty hours, there is nothing more frustrating than trying (and failing) to find comfortable position to sleep in. And if you’re like me – those silly “wrap around the back of your neck” travel pillows only worsen the situation. With them it’s as though the promise of comfort is near, but unless you are double jointed in your neck – they are basically just a pillow for your ears! Useless.
So when the good people at Siesta Travel Pillow sent us one of their pillows to test out – I was beyond excited.
Firstly – when it’s rolled up and in it’s sleeve, this thing is tiny! Less than half the size of those god awful ear pillows and far more convenient to carry. I generally just clip the string to my backpack and thats that. I have lost at least three “ear pillows” because there is literally no good place to store them.
Secondly, when you take it out and inflate it up through it’s clever one-way valve (a 30 second operation) it’s huge! Really well sized and because you are inflating it – you get to choose the level of air inside – I like to inflate it only about 85% of the way so it’s nice and cuddly.
You might be thinking – what the heck am I supposed to do with that! Don’t worry – I thought the same thing at first – but it’s actually very simple as you’ll see in the following pics. And there are more ways you can use it – just follow the link to their website and it shows all the various ways in which you can use Siesta to …. siesta!
I had so much fun testing this pillow out that my friend also wanted to “have a go” eventually we had two rows talking about the pillow and how cool it was.
So what are my honest options about the Siesta Travel Pillow? I really like it. It’s very portable, quick to set up and pack away and so much more comfortable than those “other” kinds of travel pillows. I’d love to test it out up against the window, but in all honestly – leaning slightly forward is surprisingly comfortable.
